The underside of this classic hood material was equipped with a cotton fabric, which in some vehicles rots very quickly.    We use the current Dralon fabric with a PE lower fabric for the Mercedes R107 convertible top. The PE sub-fabric of this top material has a much longer shelf life. The cut of our convertible top, in the less stretchy Dralon fabric with PE underside, was adapted by us and fits perfectly to the Mercedes R107 top. The behavior of the convertible top material in the airstream when driving fast has also improved as a result. The corner panes are much thicker than the usual 1mm window films. This reduces the creasing of these corner panes.The sealing rubber    The Mercedes R 107 convertible top has rubber sealing lips over the doors. These are firmly glued on and should be exchanged, even if they still appear good. A later replacement could seriously affect the convertible top. You can find these rubbers in the recommendation list below.    The convertible top is glued at the front and back. What is striking compared to the predecessor is that the headlights are arranged horizontally instead of vertically. The convertible top hadn't changed much. It was also one of the simplest and lightest convertible tops in its day. You could open it to others very quickly and easily. As with its predecessor, the convertible top disappears in the closed top compartment.The vehicle itself was ahead of its time when it was introduced.
